"The team had achieved the objectives it set by midway through the year. That is a great result," says the Swiss, who sees the team's third year in Formula One in a very positive light.
Sauber believes that a glance at the figures confirms his opinion: "If you look at the points that we picked up in 2008, then it is more than we expected." After 18 races the BMW Sauber F1 Team had 135 World Championship points to its name and had achieved eleven podium finishes, including the one-two at the Canadian Grand Prix.
"For me, this was the best season that I have ever experienced," said Sauber, underlining how satisfied he is with the results from the past few months: "It is a fantastic effort to still be in with a mathematical chance of becoming world champion with just three races remaining."
