High temperatures and a dirty track made for difficult conditions in
the second session at Budapest's Hungaroring. Many drivers, among them
those of the BMW Sauber F1 Team, complained about graining.
However, this didn't prevent the driver pairing from setting
competitive lap times. Nick proved to be slightly quicker than his
Polish team-mate - and no other driver did as many laps as him. During
his five stints - three of them long-runs - Nick completed a total of
46 laps. On his 41st lap, he set his personal best time of 1:21.138
minutes to secure seventh position.
Robert completed ten laps less than Nick. He set his personal best time
in the first half of the session. Nonetheless, his 1:21.363-minute lap
was good enough to finish eight.
After this promising start into the 11th race weekend of the year, we
will find out more about the BMW Sauber F1.08's competitiveness in
Hungary in Saturday's qualifying session (14:00hrs CEST, 13:00hrs BST).
