On the first two days of the Silverstone weekend, the crowds witnessed a hard-working BMW Sauber F1 Team. Here, we have compiled several interesting facts about the third free practice session and qualifying, for you. .

- Typical British: The tests the BMW Sauber F1 Team carried out last week at Silverstone were hampered by the typically wet British weather, and now, heavy rain is expected to be a factor during the British Grand Prix. For tomorrow, the BBC's weather forecasters have predicted rain to fall at Silverstone during the course of the race.

- 168 laps at Silverstone: On Saturday, Nick Heidfeld and Robert Kubica added another 70 laps to the 98 they completed on Friday at the "Silverstone Circuit". This means that the BMW Sauber F1 Team pairing covered a total mileage of 863,688 kilometres, on the 5.141-kilometre track.

- Young guns on the big stage: During the course of the British GP weekend, the Formula One drivers aren't the only ones to prove their skills. The 29 young talents contesting the Formula BMW Europe also will race at the historic "Silverstone Circuit". In the qualifying sessions for the fifth and sixth rounds of the season, Ramon Pineiro proved to be invincible. The Spaniard secured the pole positions for both races.

- Kubica just can't believe it: On the eve of the ninth round of the season, with 46 points to his tally, Robert is still in a promising position in the battle for the title. A situation the 23-year old even would never have dared dream of at the beginning of the season. "Had somebody told me at that point in time that I would secure a pole position, win a race and temporarily hold the lead in the Drivers' Championship - I wouldn't have believed them," admitted the Pole.
